Our Passionate Team
CEO, Troy UK Group
Following a successful career as Managing Director at Moldex and Ansell UK Ltd, he acquired his first enterprise, Eurogrind Ltd and soon after BAW Ltd. In 2010 he went on to purchase Troy UK and has worked tirelessly with his like-minded team, to achieve an ambitious vision by pushing the boundaries in all areas of the business. As the owner and driving force behind the Troy UK Group, he now owns one of the fastest growing companies in the South West of England.
Having started my working life as a toolmaking apprentice, and then moving on to focus on Operational Management, Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement throughout my previous work history, in Aerospace & Steel Industry Sectors. I started with BAW Precision Engineering Ltd back in 2017 with a weath of Operational Experience to offer, since moving to our new fantastic facility in Baglan South Wales, I have now taken up the position of Troy Manufacturing Group Managing Director.
A timed served toolmaker, with “TRW Steering Components” in Resolven, Mike joined BAW in 1985 as a qualified machinist.
Following a successful 5 year career grinding and milling, Mike was then approached to support our inspection department, with his particular knowledge of automotive components proving extremely valuable.
Mike successfully attended a number of Quality Inspection residential courses, with W.S Atkins and Mitutoyo.
Mike is also responsible for the calibration and certification of all our inspection equipment, in line with our ISO 9001 Accreditation.
Tony Joined Eurogrind in its infancy, back in 1983 as a Production Manager, overseeing the daily production of both custom and standard tooling.
Tony has a very “Hands on Approach” within the business, and is not adverse to carrying out machining, brazing and inspection as and when the demand dictates.
In 2008, Tony was made a director and remains a committed Engineer, passing his unique knowledge and skills on to the newer generation of our machinists.
I have worked for the company for 40 years, starting at the company as an apprentice, Designing components, liaising with customers, quoting, Commissioning and training, CNC milling, manual milling, turning, grinding, assembling and more. The role has given me the opportunity to travel all around the UK, as well as China, Spain and Hungary.
I have worked at the company for 34 years, starting as an apprentice. I manage the workshop, specialising in grinding – surface/cylindrical as well as manual millling and turing.
Troy Manufacturing Group takes on a limited number of apprentices each year following a strict selection process and it is paramount that they fit the culture and ethos of the Group and share in their values. Over 4 years they are fully trained on all equipment & machinery, achieving industry recognised qualifications. We pride ourselves in creating an inclusive learning culture allowing our apprentices to thrive, whilst benefiting from being surrounded by decades of experience.
